Clicked this thread because I was sitting there wondering wtf "simple-fold hair chair" could possibly be.
I'm not sure which fabrics to avoid but this one is like a polyester fabric. Similar to the playmats made from polyester. It wipes easily but we haven't had any big messes yet. For the price it's good. But if you are planning to use it for a long time, maybe get something with more bells and whistles. If you're tight on space, this one is pretty good. I found it from the whattoexpect website as a recommended high chair.
