My kids needed more pencils for school, and I happened to be in my local Walmart, so I thought I'd check before heading to the dollar store.
Found the Dixon #2 HB pencils in the 20 pack on clearance for $1.00, so just $0.05 a pencil! Regular price is $2.36. The 10-pack of these is at regular price of $1.64. Actually, credits go to my 11-year-old son who spotted these, as I was prepared to buy a 10-pk of some no-name pencils for $0.97.
Stocktrack shows lots of these available nationally at $1.00, so no need to run out or hoard -- being a Clearance item, I think it'll be ongoing for a while (a close look at the price tag only shows the start date of 02/02/2021, and no end date that I could see). Just grab a few packs next time you're at Walmart. I think it's in-store only and not available through online orders.
I bought these during back to school and they dont sharpen well. I end up sharpening over and over again because the led keeps breaking. Noticed the same thing with festive /design pencils with the Halloween or xmas or Valentine's prints. They chew up my sharpeners and ovewrap gets stuck all the time.
