[Walmart] First Alert 2in1 Photo Sensor Smoke and CO detector (AC Wired) Clearance $19. reg $65 YMMV

First Alert Smoke and Carbon Monoxide AC wired and Photo electric sensor

I needed to replace my old ac smoke detectors anyways.
I also have CO detectors mounted on the AC outlet as thats the best way to detect CO.
(Much Lower) to ground.
having CO detectors on the ceiling is not enough warning. (myth)?

stock track said none instock at PoCo location. but i found 2.

In a previous thread it was stated that is just a myth, having them on the ceiling is fine. Now I have to go do some googling to find the truth.

Manufacturer specs suggest placement on upper walls and ceiling at least 6" away from their intersection (corners). Science says smoke tends to roll away from flat surfaces as it reaches a corner.

Depending on your area, nest does not meet code as it does not have a strobe.

the "walmart first alert deal" has decent reviews on Lowes.ca of 56 people, 4.6 of 5 stars. not bad for $19.

Does alberta requires strobe. I never saw one with strobe light here in residential

It was an easy swap, it came with 3 adapters for other brands. I used the raw end and did a clean rewiring. just like changing a light fixture. Came with 2 AA batteries as backup, versus 9 volts in all of my other detectors. $19 cant go wrong.
