Does the battery's life last in these things?

I got the 20in corded version when it went on sale at Amazon for $179. still within the return window is this better?
I found the 20in a bit too big for my medium sized front and back yard and unwieldy managing the cord.

I'm always leery of running down to my local store for these deals and having to try and find phantom stock. It's a nice price if you can get one and your needs are low...

Thanks...

Website says $129 but I'm sure that's retail price. Probably can get them cheaper.

Picked one up for $169 at my local store. Didn't think they would have them but there was one left. Even if it doesn't last, it will be better than lugging the old Honda around anymore. That's a nice unit but it would cost 10X what I paid for this one to replace it.

Thanks...

This lawnmower is cordless, and will make cutting grass convenient, not having to worry about the cord. However, you may need to charge the battery to finish off the job, depending the size of your property.

Wow, that's a great price you got it for. Which Walmart location was that?

You could always pay for Walmarts extended warranty for extra coverage. If a replacement battery is not available when it dies you can also bring the battery to the source and they will have it rebuilt.

Tried it out with both the mulcher and bag and they worked great. Harder to push than my old Honda but that is self propelled. Took about 15 minutes total to mow the lawn and only used 1 out of 4 bars of power. Also, very light weight compared to the all steel deck and cast aluminum motor of the Honda. It still makes a bit of noise, but it's quiet compared to the Honda. Plus, it would cost me $1,600 to replace the Honda. This was 1/10th the price, so even if it didn't work well, it was worth it just to try it out...

I see they now have a "Pro" version that is 80 volts. Where will this end with these companies? 12, 24, 40, 60, 80. What's next?

When the voltages start getting high like that a lot more effort is required for insulation and safety. If the owner was accidentally electrocuted on say a 100 volt battery then that would be very, very bad for business and a potential civil suit nightmare. Ego has primarily settled on a 56 volt battery, which they seem to be comfortable with and is widely seen as one of the best batteries in the business. With an uneducated guess I don't see companies wanting to go above 80 volts and I'm not even sure if they'll continue to support that for home mowers.

My parents have this mower... it's a bit small for them but it does get the job done nicely.

My only problem with these battery powered mowers is the cost of the replacement battery. It basically becomes a throw away item once the battery goes.
Everyone has cool signatures with the stuffs they own listed... I'm in!!!

I bought one of these lawn mower and I'm very happy with it so far. I have a small town house and this is perfect. It's very agile and it cuts place I couldn't reach with my old 18" mower. Best of all, no more cord!

For the price, you can't go wrong, even if the battery only last a few years, it's way cheaper than any other cordless electric lawnmower.

Have had this for over 2 years and it's a decent mower for sure. Quiet, lightweight, and doesn't get stuck. Had another electric that got stuck in thick or tall grass. This one hasn't ever.
