Can anyone speak to the quality of Hamilton Beach appliances? $39 is pretty low for a microwave so I'm not expecting much but how do these compare?

I bought one last year for my rental unit and died within 8 months. Tried to contact manufacturer and they asked me to send them back for warranty claim with my own cost. Put that outside to dispose in collection day.

Cheap microwaves are hit and miss, either they last forever or they die quick. At this cost, I would easily gamble because chances are it will be fine.

But do caution, smaller microwaves are one of those things where if you use it often, you'll almost always want a bigger one in the future. It doesnt have to be fancy, but small microwaves have issues with larger plates (duh) and things like popcorn and hot pads

Had this same model. Was fine, except the inside paint peeled/rusted off.

FYI those in GTA, I took Don Vally Parkinglot (DVP) to two Scarborough Walmarts (Scarborough Town Centre and Scarborough West). Both out of stock.

I've owned a few Hamilton Beach appliances (rice cooker, kettle, mini-oven, etc..) and they were of quality lasting to at least 3-5+ years. The ones that were under warranty had been replaced when they broke down. This specific one tho I haven't had a chance but I would definitely buy it just because they have a 5 year warranty on their products.

We bought the $79 stainless steel one from Walmart a few months the ago. Quality is pretty bad - very inconsistent with heating up food but at the end of the day its a microwave. You just throw it back in for another minute if its not hot enough.

Walmart sells a third party 2 yr warranty for 10% of your cost. I think it's well worth the 4$ here
