One thing to watch for, there are two models. One called smart camera and one called butterfly camera. The butterfly is indoor only, the smart camera is in/outdoor, has a mount bracket and an IR light for night vision.

I point this out because my store showed 3 in stock but 2 are butterfly (both have the same UPC on a sticker that matches the smart cam UPC). The manufacturer UPC on the butterfly cams was invalid, so it seems someone counted them as smart cams.

Is this a better deal than the Netgear security system? Do you have to pay monthly to be able to use and watch the recordings?

they offer some features for free (7 day cloud storage) and some are paid (30/90 day cloud storage, 2 way audio, geofencing support)

I think these are USD:
$4.99/mo. for one camera for 30 days
$9.99/mo. for up to six cameras for 30 days
$29.99/mo. For up to six cameras for 90 days

Walmart on Lawrence near Keele was showing 10 items but only 2 were there, tonight. For anyone interested, the 2 were in a locked cabinet and were the Butterfly indoor cameras, not the IN/OUTDOOR camera. I did not buy any of the 2 items.

Is this a better deal than the Netgear Arlo security system with two 720P cameras VMS3230 for $49?

This camera is discontinued. Looks like Ooma is getting out of the security camera business, so there may not be good support going forward.

This service is garbage, had it for a year and when I needed to copy the video from the service it wouldn't work. Support could not resolve the issue and told me the service would be discontinued in the near future.
Don't waste your money.

Bought one yesterday cause it seemed like a good deal but might have to return it now

Also bought the Arlo Pro cause of how cheap they were but 720p looks like ass :(

Is this camera better but because the service would be discontinued in the near future the Netgear 720p is better? Can you save the videos on the Netgear app?

My advice is stay away. I got one from Costco over a year ago for $99. The cam is solid and heavy for its size but that's it. It wont record through a window, connection issue even 10 ft from router, and the lag was like 20 seconds or more. More than half the time it didn't connect to their server to live view or see old recordings.
So happy about Costco returns.
I got the Blink XT2 which was way better. I wish Blink would work with google assistant but having free cloud at that time made the sale.

I haven't used this one, but the 720p arlo at $49 is a great deal imo. I managed to get an arlo audio door bell for $15, and have paired them together. Works like a charm.

Unfortunately there are none in my area.

I wonder how these compare to Wyze.

Definitely avoid, I bought one yesterday and tried connecting it through the app but it wouldn't work. Returned it back to Walmart today for a full refund.

Did you have any issues when you returned this item?

Walmart return policy says clearance items are final sale

Yes, I concur that the Ooma’s service for the smart cam is pretty bad. I had bought Ooma butterfly camera (previous generation of ooma’s security camera) from Costco. That camera failed within the first year. Ooma then replaced it with smart cam. The replacement camera also failed within a month and was once again replaced which also now has failed. This camera has a lot of hardware and software issues and is not well supported by Ooma. I would say save your $50 and stay away.

The receipt didn't indicate it was clearance or final sale so I returned it quite easily, even after I opened it. I put everything back in its place so it looked brand new. The cashier asked what was wrong with it and I just said it didn't work and she issued a refund. Check your receipt and if it doesn't sale clearance or final sale, then you should be able to argue that you weren't aware that it was a final sale product. YMMV though
