not worth the $699 imo. but it was a really good phone when I had it. outside of being limited to crappy video recording resolution, i loved everything else about the phone.
It's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum and I'm all outta gum.

Paid this for the Mate 20 Pro around 6 months ago. Not a good deal.

I guess it's just perceived to be negative with all that's happening with Huawei and the fact the support for the phone is questionable.

That and brand recognition as well. Apple and Samsung are the well known brands. Think of Hyundai, Honda and Toyota. Even though Hyundai makes a great vehicle, most will tend to purchase the better known manufacturer. I'm still using my old Huawei P10 Plus for work and the P20 Pro as my personal phonez along with one of their sport watches and love all the devices, however I am coming up near the end of my contract and would like to upgrade to the P30 Pro, but am hesitant due to what the member said in regards to uncertainty with Huawei, their 5G and Google Play Store accessibility.

Mine was around $300 on tab medium quite a while ago. A P30 is currently $315 in my self serve as well...

This thing was quietly one of the best phones released last year. Bit steep at this price point, but if you go for it you will love this phone.

Great phone, but you can get it for less on Kijiji.

I have the P20. Good phone that I paid about $220 for after Kooko phone credits. It hits the sweetspot in terms of value and performance. But the Pro is not worth it at this price.

Why tho? Doesn't the p20 have stronger performance and still a good camera?

I guess it depends on what you're wanting to do. Pixel 3a has OLED screen, headphone jack and still the best rated camera and google software. Huawei P20 is 2 years old now and will be out of OS update soon. You're stuck with EMUI (which isn't terrible since I'm on a P20 Pro right now) and you can't root it. I really actually hate the front fingerprint reader placement (it's too low) and prefer reader on the back. I doubt in a day to day basis you'll notice the performance difference (admittedly the P20 probably will boot apps faster), but if you play video games then you might want to consider a OnePlus7 from aliexpress or something.

EMUI has the nasty habit of killing apps when you don't want it to though.

It's a nice phone, with a great camera - but it could be had for less than a quarter of this price last year at Black Friday via Koodo. ($305 tab, minus $150 in bill credits).

Is the camera on the non-pro that good though? I've heard the AI software is too aggressive, resulting in kind of artificial looking photos.
