$298 is a decent deal for the Retina mini 2. Good find.

I don't know if there is a difference between 1 and 2. I suppose there likely is. I know I received and email from staples for $30 off the ipad mini (1 I assume?) for 249.

As much difference as between iPad 2 (March 2011, A5 processor, non-Retina display) and iPad Air (October 2013, A7 processor, Retina display)

Walmart messed up. Ad says "Fast LTE" at the end. This is clearly not for the LTE iPad.

Decent price ... but 16GB is just not enough nowadays.

Summary:

iPad mini: Old out-of-date slow hardware with lowish resolution screen. Should have been discontinued in 2014.
iPad mini 2: Fast machine with Retina screen, and should last quite a few years.

Heh. I don't think you'd get very far though. When you click on the item, the online link is for the regular WiFi model.

can pm with FS/BB, the mini 2 is great my parents love it, easy to handle, light, and great screen

chose this over the mini 3 since all they did was added a fingerprint scanner + gold color option for $100+ more.

They also added Apple Pay to the mini 3, but that is a pretty minor point for most people.

So yeah, as much as I love Touch ID, I think the mini 3 is a terrible deal.

I would want the LTE version for the GPS, as much as for the added connectivity. Also, is it true that the Mini (1 & 2) have issues with color reproduction?

I actually couldn't find the MINI 2 at FS or BB online. Just Staples.

Rumour has it that Apple Pay in Canada is targeted for March 2015. Of course even if the talks are happening and targeting that time frame, the talks could fail or get delayed. Still, if that's something that interests you, then you'd buy a mini that supports it.

It should be noted though, Apple Pay with the mini 3 is not the same thing as with an iPhone. You can't tap to pay with an iPad mini 3. It just allows you to pay via apps.

IIRC, according to reviews it's not as good as the iPad Air / Air 2, but better than most Android tablets out there.

Yes. The tablet market is supposed to be plateauing soon, if not already.

Just wondering, do they accept trade in? I have the new ipad (ipad 3 i think) and was thinking about trading it in to fund for an iphone or an ipad mini.
