Those are some really poor reviews of the shield. I'll pass.

That egg beater is a definitely maybe. I can see myself not having to clean the bowl at the end of every mix.

The flex edge beater is a must have for working with any kind of dough. The shield is crap and warps basically immediately.
Nobody cares which companies you use/subscribe to on a monthly basis unless there is a deal to be had. Why advertise for them in your forum signature?

The shield is average but I still consider it's worth buying. We mostly do pancakes with our mixer and the shield help to prevent some floor to make a cloud out of the bowl when we start mixing the dry ingredients.

But damn ordering at WM is a pain. They want to charge me 5$ for store pickup (when they say it's free).

It's a bad design. It leaves a gap right where you pour, so it spits out under it

Thanks! Got it through Amazon as well even though it says “Usually ships within 1 to 3 weeks.” Not in a rush anyway.

Weird, I have a KA dishwasher that is set to heat dry most of the times and don't have this problem. I place it ~horizontally on the top of the dishes on the top rack.

The flex head beater wouldn't work for a bowl lift mixer right? Since it says for tilt head only

Don't think so because of the size of the bowl. Different bowls sizes = appropriate accessories sizes.
