That’s a better deal than the $11.98 RCSS had many months ago, they sold quick! Stock Track shows BC with a much higher price than $9.

Is each outlet controllable remotely or is it to turn on/off the entire thing?

Geeni is owned by Merkury, here's a quote from their website:
"For almost 20 years, Merkury Innovations, the parent company of Geeni, has followed the trends of electronic accessory and tech, keeping us ahead of the curve and providing you affordable products without compromising taste and design."

I have the Merkury wall tap and 2 smart outlets. Must resist getting this powerbar. But I could use more of the OOS $3 security cameras Face With Stuck-out Tongue And Tightly-closed Eyes

Sorry to be dense, is Tuya app preferable to the one by the manufacturer (Geeni app) ? How so ?

Similar to the Primecables one. I bricked mine trying to load tasmota (ordered 5, bricked 2, 3 using Tuya App on Home Assistant). Works perfectly!

It's just personal preference. I prefer to keep as many iot devices as possible in one app.
Most of cheap smart devices are tuya-compatible.

I have both the geeni and Merkury powerbars, I can see very minor differences in the app.
Same Company.

here's an unboxing video for the Geeni Version (Black Box).

The USB ports on Merkury Power Bar does not have a separate on/off feature.
I could have an older version. whereas the Geeni has that option.
but looking at the OPs photo, There is a indicator light for the USB ports.
meaning it does have that option.. mine must be old version then. time to buy a new one!!

It appears Walmart is clearing out other Merkury stuff.. I just picked up 2 of the mini outlets for $5 each.. So if you are going to Walmart, you should look to see what else is on clearance..

(Just to NOTE, the mini outlets do not support Tasmota).

I flashed my geeni with tuya convert, and it works well.

Original geeni app is horrible btw, it drops a lot and resets often.
