A little off topic, but... Does anyone know of another place to get vertuo pods yet besides directly from Nespresso?

P. S. I know amazon sells them but the prices are way higher.

Skip the Vertuo Next, it's prone to leaking according to r/Nespresso.

I think the issue is the Breville one, it’s the cheaper model. This is De’longhi made in Italy version the more expensive model.

They're not in Canada yet, but Bed Bath & Beyond sells Starbucks Vertuo pods in the US. Presumably coming to Canada in the future.

Complete garbage, leaks, high pod costs, DRM'ed and app based (data stealing app based on coffee forum feedback). No backwards compatibility.

Get the classic line of machines before the new DRM'ed patented pod machines were released, or get a third party multi-pod machine.

Tons of returns on this unit once people realized it was a godless abomination of a coffee machine.

Stay away from the Next.
If you want a Nespresso, get the Vertuo plus.
We had 2 Next machines and both developed leaks.
Ended up getting a Breville Barista from the BBB sale.

How much was the Breville Barista on the BBB sale?

I’m in the market, just having a tough time choosing one.

Was your next the same one as they have here at Walmart or was it the Breville ones?

No. They are comparable and all have leakage issues. I am a member of Nespresso group and I am seeing posts everyday about these leaking

+1

My De'longhi leaked as well just after a year. I don't think they build any of these to last.

I have the Breville machine, and no leaks so far *touch wood*, but I am just curious, after how long people start to seeing leak issues? i have had mine for 2 years now. And I drink coffee almost daily.

I don't recall, but it was a "Red" one from Costco.
I also find it very noisy, compared to the Vertuo.

Regarding the leak - got mine a couple of months ago, and a black 'sludge' has started leaking from it.

Regarding the Pods - I actually reuse the pods with my own coffee. Just clean the aluminum pod, put your own espresso grind into it, and then cap it with an aeropress filter.
