[Walmart] Nintendo 1st Party Titles $54.96 (Aug. 18-24)

In the upcoming Walmart flyer that starts tomorrow they're putting at least 7 1st party Nintendo games on sale for $54.96 to celebrate going back to school (and then of course, sitting on the couch and playing Mario Kart until you fall asleep). The titles shown are:

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/mario-kart ... 0196897473

Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword: https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/the-legend ... 0201790913

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the WIld: https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/the-legend ... 0196784707

Pikmin 3 Deluxe: https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/pikmin-3-d ... 0202061576

Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze: https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/donkey-kon ... 0198162664

Mario Golf Super Rush: https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/mario-golf ... 0202211031

Super Mario Party (yes, the bad one): https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/super-mari ... 0198576779

It does mention Other Nintendo Switch games but I'm not sure what they are and will update if/when they show up or I can figure out their code.
Try speaking American, it's the only language I understand.

Good deal especially if you have gift cards to use… too bad a lot of these titles can be bought cheaper second-hand at Marketplace when you factor in tax, if you don’t mind used.

Skyward Sword is a remake of the 2011 Wii version. I think timeline wise, Skyward Sword takes place at the beginning of the Legend of Zelda storyline, and Breath of the Wild is at the end.

It's the prequel to the entire series. Also it's a remaster, orginally came out in 2011

No. It's a prequel Wii game ported to Switch, and apparently the control mapping to Switch is utter trash. Do not buy this game until they fix it.

the fact that people keep buying these same games ported again and again is just crazy to me
My phone plan is $400 a month for 500 MB of data.
My internet plan is $199.99 for capped internet and slow speeds.
My credit cards are the ones with annual fees but terrible rewards.
Did I RFD correctly?

Skyward sword isn't the BOTW sequel. It was a Wii game with motion controls and this is a remake with a new option to play with motion or to use your controller stick to control the sword.

I played it and enjoyed using the controller controls, but they feel a bit clunky at first since you have to press one of the shoulder buttons to control the camera. The gameplay is a lot more linear than BOTW, which isn't a bad thing, just different more like the older Zelda games.

As a current PC Gamer that only buy games on sale, I can't convince myself to pay more than $30 dollars on a game. But I keep looking at Breath of the Wild for a long time. I think I will finally pull the trigger this year as I'm planning to use my kids Switch after the go to bed. We currently just have Mario Kart and Switch Sports and keep borrowing games from the library, but there are always long waiting lines for them and we can just keep them for 3 weeks, not enough to do much on a game like Zelda.

LOL where's that thread from literally like two days ago where I said Skyward Sword was due to go on sale soon and pulling the trigger on a higher price didn't make any sense.

If you get the online + expansion pack from Nintendo. It include Kart and animal crossing DLC. Not too sure if it is worth it.

Is this a Nintendo sale or Walmart specific? Reason why I ask is in the past, Nintendo sales often result in the same price at all locations, and if these prices can be found at SDM then it becomes a better deal with the Optimum pts

The fact that people bought the overpriced crap that is the OLED model is indicative of the Nintendo fans that’ll gobble up anything the company releases, even if it’s just a reskin of an older product

It'll be a Nintendo sale. Retailer-specific sales for Nintendo products are practically non-existent.

Does Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze ever go on sale? I've been waiting for what seems like a year and haven't seen it (but I could have missed it)
