rice tastes much better from a mid tier rice cooker with a microcomputer to adjust temps (i guess their version of fuzzy logic) like this panasonic than an instantpot. i tried and it was no contest... i have an isntantpot..but we don't use it for rice.

Never used my instant pot for cooking rice. How easy is it to cleanup after? Does a lot of rice get stuck to the pot since it's a not a non stick pot? I've also found that instant pot seals can seemingly absorb odours from previous stuff I've cooked in it and this may affect the flavour of rice or yogurt if you use that instant pot function.

I’ve cooked rice and rice dishes in the instapot. Never sticks , I have had no issue. I do not use the rice cooker function. I use pressure cooking setting depending in the rice just change the time. I typically use basmati rice and I set it at 1 min. Ready in about 20 min all together with natural release.i always store my instapot with the lid upside down ( I have a cloth cozy to cover the whole thing ) and don’t have odors, been using the same seal for about 10 years now.

Walmart changed the flyer, now Instant Pot Duo is back to " hot deal " price of 68.88 . I contacted them on Twitter and this was their response:

We completely understand your concern. We strive to deliver everyday low prices. The price of an item is dependent on several factors such as the cost of materials or transportation. Walmart reserves the right to change their prices without further notice.

Rice is one thing the instant pot sucks at. I've ever had a perfect batch after many attempts.

My understanding is that it is the rubber seals on the lid that can start to pick up the odors not the stainless still pot that goes inside. You can buy coloured seals ( use a different colour for sweet vs savory etc) as replacements .

Does this go to the "keep warm" setting after cooking?

Tired of mine right now where it is always "keep warm" unless I unplug it.

I've followed instructions to the letter using the rice function, adjusted for possible altitude differences, asked friends who have multi cookers, Plus. Never had a batch of rice come out anywhere near perfectly. And I can get perfect rice every time on the stovetop.

If there's a trick to it I haven't heard, please dish...
