[Walmart] Public Mobile/ Lucky Mobile/ Chatr free sim w/ activation

My name isn't Cute

Walmart has free sims with these 3 prepaid carriers until Sept 18

Public Mobile has a referral program. The person being referred gets a $10 one time credit and the person referring gets $1 off per month

Chatr/Lucky both have 'unlimited' data after hitting your limit (500MB+ plans). It slows down considerably, though.

Chatr runs off of Roger's 3G network
Lucky runs off of Bell's LTE network capped at 3G speeds
Public Mobile runs off of Telus' LTE network capped at 3G speeds, but apparently if you choose to run off 3G, the speeds are better (but also higher latency)

Freedom also has second month free on their $29 ($24 with digital discount) 1.5GB plan
+ sim is free

No it's off and on
They'll have the promo for a couple of weeks and then it'll be gone for a month or two

Any PM plans including the $13 and $23 ones are eligible at walmart?
In Japan, the hand can be used like a knife.
But this method doesn't work with a tomato...

Yes it can
it's just a referral code added during the activation process

Just to let everyone know, Chat R and Lucky Mobile does have "unlimited throttled data" but on plans that are $25 and higher.
I have not verified the info, but did go to their website to review the details. The $15 plan only has 250 MB for both providers.
Thank you RFD community for helping me with spending money, I feel so poor now!

quick question: Suppose I go to Walmart and sign up for PM, asking for free SIM, BYOD, and ask them to include the referral code, the ref-code is simply a phone number of a PM user, or a alpha-num code ?
Thanks.

Thanks.
Its an alpha-num code now. Referrer has to login to their PM account and it'll be on the top right side on the main page

Usually Public Mobile follows the competition. So, hopefully, that would happen in the near future.

In Canada, only Rogers network supports 2G GSM signal. PM will never support 2G. PM and Lucky support 3G and LTE, no GSM/2G.
Have too many phones... This is how I limit my monthly phone payment.
Public Mobile $37 5GB, $13 250MB, 2x $8 50min/50text, Fido $10 4GB data only plan,
Zoomer $36 loyalty 4GB plan, $0 FPL home phone

Business must be slow at WM after Koodo contract change two weeks ago.
Signing up prepaid is commission in the bank as there is no refund for prepaid plan in Canada.
