i ordered one......seems the usual type of reviews for Fluid, great picture, bad sound, but i have a sound bar anyway, and $25 off code worked.

damn... this is so tempting. I have two working 42" 1080p TVs that are pretty old, but I'm still fairly happy with how they're working.

but this is pretty damn cheap for a 4k 55" tv.

Anyone able to get the code? I was going to order two more echo dots but the code isn't being sent. It's been 12 hours.

Ordered the 49" which includes free shipping. The $25 coupon did not work at the initial page but did on the page where you enter the payment details. $376.28 after tax and coupon.

Fluids doesn't have versions (and no reports of problematic panels either).

Nope, just sourced from the same factory, then rebranded accordingly (Haier, RCA, Fluid, Avera, Technicolor, ProScan, Seiki all share base hardware with minor per-brand customizations).

Check power consumption on these old units, it might justify the upgrade it even if they are in perfect working order.

Thanks to the echo dot "abuse" they have finally caught up and now coupon can't be combined with any other discount whatsoever.

The Static Contrast ratio on the 49 inch is only 1200 to 1. The 55 one has 5000 to 1.

1200 to 1 is common for IPS panels.
5000 to 1 is most probably an MVA one.

Nothing particularly worse for this TV compared to other entry level slim ones, they all need a bar anyway, but those who can live with built in speakers of other sets reported no issue with these ones as well.

Regarding the WM 55" RCA, it appears that they're selling RTU5540-B models (Dufferin Mall Walmart). Didn't get a chance to see the manufacturing date. Does the olive-yellow issue appear 100% on every unit? I ordered mine online, so hopefully I get shipped a C instead...

still on the fence about the 49" one but leaning towards no at this point

would be interested in peoples input regarding these tv's though...hopefully those that got em have good experiences

keep the Curtis TV discussion threads updated with your reviews and experience...it would really help those of us on the fence next year haha

Take it for what it's worth but we only got a sample of 2 B models, and both seems to be affected, its safer to assume all B sets are affected till some units appears to be not then we can go and check manufacturing date and try to figure out a pattern.

part of the reason i went with the Fluid.

So I also bought the 49 inch for $305. (With $25 coupon) Will be refunding one of them. What is the refund policy of the Source? Will there be restocking fees for open box? I want to open both to see which size fits my living room better. :P
