[Walmart] Rollback On Bissell Vacuums $59 Powerforce, $54 Powerforce Compact, Uprights, $49 Powerforce Cannister, $69 Cordless Stk

Image Image Image

Walmart has recently rolled back pricing on the Bissell Powerforce vacuum cleaners.
$59 for the Powerforce upright, $54 for the Powerforce Compact, and $49 for the Powerforce canister.
Available in store or online with free shipping.
These economy vacuums surprisingly get good reviews/comments, and although it is hard to believe, you can get a functional vacuum cleaner for $50-$60.
Obviously these are better suited to light or intermittent users though.
I bought the previous Powerforce upright model and it works well and has continued to for a couple of years.
Use a credit card for the purchase for an extra year of warranty.

Excellent for small apartments with hard floors, terrible on carpets. This seems to be an update to the older model, which I've owned for over three years now and couldn't be happier with. Great reviews:

Which one would you recommend? Are the upright ones better than the canister design?

We have a Bissel and it's working very well. I think we have the older version of this (bought it for ~$120 in Walmart back in the day):

yeah I am trying to decide what style. I have the little upright stick vacum, it isn't' that good, it sucks at sucking... *crickets sound* so I assume these ones are much better and can actually suck on carpets?

I can definitely vouch for the Upright version. Its got very good suction power and cleaned up things in my carpet that I didn't know existed. For this price, you can't go wrong! The only thing I didn't like was how short the tube, even at its extended length, is for doing any touch up work.

I have the older model of the Powerforce and it does a decent job on carpets, can't say if the compact and canister perform similarly, although.comments seem positive for them also.

You can't go wrong with either upright or canister as others have said here. They do a decent job. Style is more of a preference I feel.

I have a Shark upright vacuum (been using it for 6.5 years now) and a canister Dyson (stupid airmiles expiration that was reversed 1 week after I redeemed my points). I prefer the upright for its compact design. Easier to store since I don't have to worry about a hose and can quickly find a corner to park it. And I find upright easier to use as well. I can vacuum while walking backwards without having the canister being left in front of me and I'd have to pull it backwards (though this is just having to change my vacuuming procedure). The canister type, you have to vacuum while walking forward so you're always dragging the canister. For stairs, it's hard to say who's better. People prefer the canister cause they can just leave it at the bottom of the stairs and just stretch the hose while for an upright, you'd have to carry it per step as the hose is usually not long enough.

Between these two models, which do people recommend? I'm not sure what the difference is other than the cheaper version having an extended wand attachment?
I don't own the compact model, but it depends on your type of use, I think. The compact is lighter smaller and more manouverable, probably better for stairs, and getting under things, and carrying up/down stairs. It draws less current though, 6 A as opposed to 8A for the Power force, so it probably has less suction for deep carpet cleaning.

Oh okay thanks a lot! :) I think I would prefer a deeper clean because I do have carpets. How easy is it to clean out the canister/filter?
