You sure it's the 10"? All the 10" ones are $150. My local stores are selling the 8" kids edition for $100 though

Nothing much in Quebec. 20 left in Kanata store, though, if Stocktrack is accurate.

Ok if you can't afford more but if you can the 2GB RAM and latest update are not your friends.

Meet my Motorola G6 Play.
It will make you retract that statement and induce murderous rage.

I have the Samsung Galaxy E tablet, it's now slow as fcuk and with barely anything on it its 32GB memory is almost full - android apps love to cache. However, the battery life on Samsung tablets are very good.

That's definitely an older tablet, let's be honest.

First released in 2015, anywhere from 1gb to 1.5gb RAM.

The 2019/2020 tablets are considerably faster, even in the Tab A space.

True. Just a representation of how good the battery life is, which is still holding its charge well today. After 6 years, I have no other expectations regarding it.

I just received a system update (One UI 3.0) for my 2019 8-inch Samsung Tab A today. Got it during Black Friday of 2019 and it took Samsung that long to roll out the Android 11 One UI 3.0 update. Being a few years old, my tablet isn't too bad for what I use it for. It does struggle though trying to multitask on 2 GB of RAM. Whenever I'm listening to a podcast while updating apps, my podcast would suddenly stop playing since it got booted from memory to make room for the app updates. Other than that, it's an improvement over my previous Samsung Tab 4.0 8-inch which was struggling so badly wanted to throw it against the wall whenever I try to do anything with it. Even something as simple as a podcast is like pulling teeth. It was unusable.

I also noticed that I'm now getting some regular software updates and bug fixes from Samsung despite this being a Tab A series (their low end line). This is a nice change from before where software updates are far and few between. I think some of it is credit to Google which made the OS less cumbersome to update for vendors who have to integrate their tweaks into the patches after the fact.

Furthermore, StockTrack shows this tablet to range from $150 to $200 around me in the CRD.
Why settle for full retail price when you can wait and get it at a lower price for better value (even better if there's a bundled freebies deal)? 😉

Your Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 can now have a new lease on life. I was also getting ready to toss mine due to it being so slow and freezing. All that Samsung crap is what is causing it.

I have been following the ROM development on XDA for the Tab 4 for years but there has always been some issue or another like camera not working, google play store issues etc.

They finally have a great daily driver cooked up that has all that stuff fixed. I flashed Lineage 18.1 ( android 11 ) and open g apps pico last week and it is like night and day compared to the planned obsolescence of the last android 5.1 update many moons ago.

Thanks for the info. Smiling Face With Sunglasses I sincerely appreciate the heads-up. This info and update came too late for me, unfortunately. I already traded in my Tab 4 8.0 while it was still worth some money and cut my losses. As I've said, it isn't even worth using as even a podcast device and struggles with that, constantly getting bumped from memory. You're absolutely correct that the tablet is chock full of bloatware that you can't uninstall, and just compounds the misery. The TouchWiz interface isn't helping either, plus the duplicate Samsung apps for every Google app. The hardware is very underpowered and under equipped for the strain that the software puts the tablet through. Plus it uses the Exynos SoC as well, which tends to be underpowered and runs hot.

Every time you factory reset (aka scorched Earth) the tablet, it runs decently well. Not long after that, the tablet starts to slow down until it is painfully slow to do anything on it. I've rooted and flashed a different and equivalent Samsung ROM on it which helped al little bit and made the tablet run a bit warm, but it worked better for the most part until it also started experiencing the same slowdown. I don't recall Lineage had anything available or compatible at the time. So I decided to cut my losses and trade it in while I can still get some money from it. Don't know why anyone would still want a tablet this old and slow and offering money for it, but a deal is a deal and if they can put it to good use, then I'm happy to have them take it off my hands since I'm not doing anything with it and it will be getting recycled next.
