Walmart SCOP Discussion - YMMV

Bringing awareness to members so they aren't overcharged at the register.

In the flyer (August 5 to September 8 in Ontario which might apply to other areas) the following items are advertised.

Sponge Towels 6's 2Ply for $8.47 (scanning at 8.97)
https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/spongetowe ... 0200009811

Pringles Snack Potato Chips, 12x19g for $3.97 (scanning at $4.97)
https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/pringles-s ... 0197702581

Ziploc Food Storage Containers 44 Pieces for $11.97 (scanning at $14.97)
https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/ziploc-foo ... 0196133902

If you bought the Sponge Towels or Pringles, they would qualify for free under SCOP. Any additional one purchased would be at the advertised price in the flyer.

If you bought the Ziploc Food Storage Containers the price should be $1.97. Any additional one purchased would be at the advertised price in the flyer.

Employees or managers may try to adjust the price as per the flyer, but under SCOP the Sponge Towels and Pringles qualify as FREE.

I wouldn't necessarily post SCOP deals but good to know. Got some decent stuff for free under SCOP. Good program to protect customers from retailer errors

Why are people complaining about SCOP deals? Can't complain about free paper towels, other free items & $10 off anything over $10+.

At my local Walmart I go through self checkout and most of the time when I inform them that something scanned in wrong and I want SCOP applied the self checkout staff don't even bother checking the shelf tag or flyer. They automatically give me the item for free or $10 off. It's great!

Upvoted, as I was not aware of this. Wish I knew about this last week, Heinz ketchup scanned higher than the price tag displayed on the isle, the self checkout staff just gave me the reduced price.

100% agree. and it's also SUPER YMMV.... Imagine being that person arguing with employees after seeing the 'deal' on RFD.

it seems superstore is not under SCOP. I bought a OREO last week and the scanned price was higher than price tag. And this OREO's best before date is 2020. MA

Some people will complain about anything, maybe they are just bitter.

Just like you I go to self checkout and have little to no issue at all.

Superstore is under Loblaws which is a part of your list...

Superstore is under SCOP. Got multiple items for free under SCOP. Sometimes you need to ask for it as the person doesn't necessarily apply it automatically.

Thank you and appreciate the heads up. I hate when people give you slack for reporting it. Keep up the good work.

Also if you look at faq it says flyer price and does not need to be posted.

I don't even bother with the cashier at Superstore or Walmart. I just pay then go to customer service to get a refund.

Damn, that's a good tip lol. Gonna go try out this route at my local Wally after work :)

Also, thanks OP, Idk why you get so many downvotes tbh.

I bought a item that scanned higher than shelf tag at superstore. Self ceheckout lady said just pay then go to customer service for adjustment. I was happy just paying the shelf tag but she immediately said it’s free

Wish I knew this earlier. On one occasssion, I scanned the item for $2.99 at self checkout whereas the shelf price was $1.49. I asked the staff for the price discrepancy and she agreed to go back to the shelf and validate the price. Finally I got it for $1.49, but I think it was a loss of $1.49... LOL...

They generally fix these right away in the system so unlikely for many to get this.
