[Walmart] Sizzling HOT! Blackstone 28 inch Outdoor Flat Top Gas Grill Griddle Station - 2-Burner - Propane Fueled 100$ YMMV

This griddle is in liquidation at Decarie store in Montreal for 100$ there were still about 16 when i left. I don't know i you can pricematch in other walmart, but might be worth it to try.

you can see stock and price on https://stocktrack.ca/?s=wm&upc=71760415170

I never used it myself yet, but my brother has one and he's never using his regular bbq anymore. The important thing is to season it well at first if you don't want it to rust.

here's a video showing how

Looks like a good unit and price, but in my area cheapest price is $199 according to the stocktrack website.

Also, between my BBQ and camping stove, I'm having a hard time justifying it

It's a shame there's no cover for it. My deck isn't covered.

Cheapest local price for me is $148

if people swear by this unit and replaces a BBQ than even at $248 it's a good price considering I've spent way more on BBQ's in my lifetime. I'm just still on the fence about these only because with a BBQ you get the nice grill marks and something about the fat dripping down the metal rods makes it good in a different way rather than having the meat cooked in it's own juices like in a flat-top.

It's basically more like cooking on a giant frying pan than on a grill. You can do fantastic steaks with more of the surface caramelized, but you won't get the designer grill marks that a lot of people have come to expect. And you can do veggies without having to put them in a grilling basket etc. And you can do things you can't do on a grill: eggs, pancakes, make pitas/tortillas/roti, etc.
To me the only downside is that you don't get the smoke from the juices dripping onto the coals/burners/heat shield like you do in a BBQ, and there's no lid so you can't close in smoke or steam or low heat to do the more traditional low & slow BBQ ribs, chicken, etc. Best would be this plus a grill or smoker, but if you only want one cooker, you need to decide what kinds of cooking you most want to do.
