is this an advertisement paid post? This card is nowhere competitive even if one solely shops at walmart.

I might not be aware. Is there another no fee card that gives you 1% on all you purchases?

On top of that $25 bonus, you will get extra $10-$15 if you opt for online billing.

There are quite a lot...
BMO 1% - redeem anytime once $50+
RBC 2% grocery up to $6000/yr, 1% on anything else
MBNA smart cash 2% grocery and gas $400/m, 1% on anything else
Tangerine 2% on 3 categories, 0.5% on anything else
Fido 1.5% on anything, need to call once per year to redeem or redeem as rogers bill credit
National bank 1.5% on gas, online, grocery, 1% on anything else

all the cards listed above are no fee and mastercard so they are all widely accepted.

Why would anyone apply for walmart credit card that can only be redeemed at walmart and merely just 1.25% is just scratching my head

BMO is free for the first year then $120 after!
Not sure about the others

BMO has a free one... I have it for years and I never pay anything. It is only 1% so it is not competitive. All the one I listed are no fee. Walmart super store counts as grocery, walmart online can be done using national bank. Unless your area only has walmart non super store and you only shop there, there is no advantage at all using walmart credit card.

I really have no idea why the Canadians always get all the crap while in US they get all the good stuff. E.g. PayPal credit card is no fee and 2%cb on everything, and now they are removing their foreign exchange fee.

Nothing is even remotely close here in Canada...

I'm using scotia no fee cash back that gives me 1% on grocery and gas and 0.5% on all other transactions.
They don't consider walmart as grocery.
Then 80% of transactions are non grocery not gas! So actually I'm getting with then 0.5%

With this card i will get 1% on every thing (restaurant - gas - bus- vacations - ...etc) plus 1.25% at Walmart.
With this card I'll be getting at least double the reward!

It's way better deal than scotia credit card. Have not studied all the cards in the market. But most of the interesting ones has annual fees. For me no way to pay annual fees for such cards.

that's because Scotia's one is Visa. If it is mastercard and superstore it will be counted as grocery. Anyway, this will be my last post here.

Fido no fee, 1.50% cash back on all purchases, annual statement credit automatic credited. MasterCard. Just get this opener you'll be glad u did. This Walmart CC is just horride, it's not even remotely competitive.

Also rogers mastercard gives 1.75%, and the fee is waived if you use it to automatically pay your rogers bill.

I got the Walmart MC after a couple years of the cashiers harrassing me every time I went to check out. It is pretty much the only place I shop for groceries so I guess it makes sense.

This is good for Fido clients. They can redeem the 1.5% towards Fido bill.
But for non-Fido or Rogers clients ??

Or I'll get 4% back on all groceries no matter where I shop with my visa infinite. Along with greater percentages back on pretty much every other purchase I make with my card. This is an awful card.
