Good ol' xbox, always in stock.
Xbox releases were always badly timed for me, in that my gaming PC is too new when it is released and to late in the lifecycle when I upgrade.
Otherwise I would get this until PS5 things calm down a bit since it seems like a good setup.
PS releases are such a shitshow.

The great emu console. Tempted to get it just for that but I'll wait for now. Already have the Series X

Probably pick it up when there is a worthwhile game that releases on it, but not on PS5.

I suspect well see some trade in options for this console soon. Just makes zero sense to rid of my One X for this, would be a downgrade. I think they miscalculated the no disc option. Sure there is a market for digital only, but im willing to bet that market is low. Disc option gives much more value. They should have made an XBOX Series S with disc option for $449, i think many would have then jumped on this. That, or make a discless version with 2TB, as less than 1TB is a joke considering the cost to upgrade storage

There were in the past, but ps4 sales are not on Sonys radar anymore, so likely never again sales unless its stores
Looking to clear out stock perhaps next year

Thankful for rfd.

Not a cost efficient option in the long run, or even short run... even if one of anything still in-stock, sadly.
Not cost efficient for you. Don't throw everyone into the same group. This system with game pass is all most people will ever need or want

I brought up the same reasoning for considering the S, the whole gamepass stackable offers(3yrs) and a not up to par PC for it lol.

Still decided digital S wasn't a smart investment, both in storage and future proofing.

You'll be spending more just on storage to have more than 2-3 games installed with what usable on that 500gb drive, add in the lowered specs too?

You'll just be buying another "pro" like version of this by next year.

I never play more then 3 or 4 games at a time. Why not just delete them and download something else? I also have no plans on buying a new 4k Tv anytime soon. I agree why the system isn't for everyone casual gamer's and especially the younger crowd this system is fine. My son has had an xbox one for two years and he hasn't used the disc drive once. Just buy what's right for you, future proofing in my mind is pointless as well. Technology moves so fast you will never be ahead of it.

Not sure about storage since you can add external and, at least in my case, never play more than 2 games concurrently. Also games can be installed/uninstalled, so who cares.
Even the lack of a blue-ray drive is not a showstopper.
Lack of 4k might be an issue down the line, first for not being 4k and second I doubt the PS5 and X consoles will deliver 100% of the touted 4k performance. So an X will deliver a decent 1440p performance thorough its lifetime, but an S might not.

I know my local Costco has it in stock pretty much every time I go. No Series X though
