[Walmart] YMMV - Fido/Virgin Mobile $20/mo financing Samsung S20 FE or iPhone XR $400 GIFTCARD

Just came from Walmart and they were offering $250 Walmart GC + Bonus $150 GC for a few phones with $20/mo financing for 24 months.

$40 plan + $20/mo financing x 24 months = $1440 - $400 GC - selling phone for ~$500 = $540 total cost over 24 months. That’s basically paying $22.5/mo!

Might expire this weekend. Go TODAY!

I didn’t see Freedom. I think Koodoo was offering some big GCs too.

My only problem would be trying to spend 400 bucks at Walmart. I shop there for some things but it would take a while to spend it all.

Use it to buy a prepaid card from Walmart.

Did they say it expires tonight? Do they sometimes extend to Mondays?

I was going to post closer to back to school (end of august) but looks like some are starting early this year

looks like a bunch of the carriers already have the iPhone XR and the S20FE for $20/month financing and $400 GC or iPhone 11 for $25 financing and $200 GC (excluding freedom)

Although I dont know how OP got a $40 plan unless it was a migration plan or an additional line discount on the $45 3GB plan

Does anyone know, whether Virgin Plus Winback deals can be combined with these gift cards or not? They do allow picking up from Walmart (This is something I'm sure of).

They are doing this again. Is this related to Samsung having a significant loss in sales of S20 and S21? I heard they couldn't even reached to 50% of S10 sales.

Not normally there. I like the other reply to buy a gift card.

That's a plan. Buy a MasterCard or Visa and pay the phone bill with it. Thanks.

Hey that's your choice, but if you're not trying to do most of your grocery shopping at Walmart you're needlessly inflating your grocery bill. Walmart is cheaper for nearly every single grocery item they carry when compared to Superstore or Sobeys (at least in NB).

Can't speak for NB, but Ontario's Walmarts aren't necessarily the cheapest. Maybe they've got the cheapest store-brand items ("Great Value" I think?), but for brand-name items, its common to find sales at the other stores at a lower price. We almost exclusively shop at Superstore through intensive price matching, price matches to Walmart account for maybe 1-2 items each week. Other stores seem to have better sale prices.
