[Walmart] [YMMV] Walmart - Kingsford Charcoal Professional Briquettes, 12 Lb bag, $3

Kingsford Charcoal Professional Briquettes, 12 Lb bag, being cleared out by Walmart.

Check stocktrack if your local store has this price. Still a bunch of stores in Edmonton have this price with stock.

This is a really "hot" deal. Going to stock up tomorrow. Will never need to buy charcoal again.

When given enough time, all threads on RFD can and will go off on a tangent.

Well guess I am heading out...late night shopping better than crowded shopping. I still have 3 bags of the royal oak briquettes sale...thought that was good but this is SMOKIN!

Wow great deal, and I grabbed 4 of smaller bags on clearance for $5. Gonna have to go back and grab more bags.

I BBQ a lot and these are my favorite charcoal brand to use.

The WM on Davis Drive in NewMarket ON still has half a skid ...I just left there with 30 bags - the other half of the skid (not all for me)....located in the Seasonal area (walk in turn right go to the side wall)...nobody was looking at them because the sign said $7 until I scanned a bag and bought 30 - the manager came over and changed the price to $3 as I was loading.

They also have a full skid of the crappier regular Kingsford briquettes in 3.62 Kg bags marked $3 (regular $5) - the manager offered them to me for $1 a bag but I had to buy the whole skid to get that price - I declined as the Kingsford Premium Briquettes for $3 are much better.

Thanks OP - just packed 15 bags (2 per green garbage bag) in my garden shed. I am good for the next year for Kamado & Weber Smokey Mountain.

Picked up a few, thanks OP.

Always used lump, so basically first time using briquettes. Did I make the right choice for brand? Anything I should expect differently?

NB: tired of $20+ bags of lump.

Guelph Sount and Kitchener Supercenter are all out. Asked the managers in both stores but they didn't seem to care much about the massive number of phantom stock. Stores are super busy so don't expect much help.

It’s a really good brand. I kinda prefer the briquettes with Apple or hickory wood chunks. I find you get a more even heat and longer burn but doesn’t get as hot as lump charcoal.

At 3$ a bag this is a steal of a price.

Not sure if the inventory is updating for stocktrack as regularly as one would like. I was at the Walmart kitchener supercenter on Ottawa street around 11am with some buddies. Stocktrack showed 69 early this morning. We each bought 6 bags, total of 24. Another guy had a cart filled with 12 or more bags. And there was still a good 12 bags on the palette at the entrance. Perhaps you were late to the party.

You will notice the red disclaimer on stocktrack saying not to use the site or inventory numbers to bother employees with including complaining about phantom stock… true or not because the updates may not be timely, or there are online pick up orders fulfilled with the stock and not yet picked up.

Lol, stop being the guy that bothers the staff and managers over clearance items. If you don't see it in the BBQ or clearance section, then it is GONE and someone faster beat you to it.

The numbers are NOT accurate whatsoever. As you can see, some people buy 30+ so those aren't phantom stock, people just bought it all and the updates are delayed.

Nah guys, that is not what RFD is all about. I picked up the last 8 at Kitchener but nonetheless at 50+ stock and the level of deal its worth it to ask, at least point me to the stack/skid as its located way away from the seasonal section in the store.

Folks are right the numbers aren't accurate in stocktrack but the values kept dropping throughout the day up until there was no real stock left. So the stock values inaccurate as they may be were pretty "real-time". The inaccuracy comes from stocktrack not knowing about spillage, losses etc, coz stores very likely don't double check inventory or update lost/damaged inventory.

LOL even the Guelph manager sounded and looked concerned on how 50+ 15lb bags of charcoal went missing. Very likely Kitchener/Guelph will still show 50+ in a month from now. I can understand 5-10 bags missing, torn etc. but 50? nah, definitely worth asking and definitely posting here so a fellow RFDer doesnt waste his/her time. In either case a true RFD'er would have price matched this at another store.

About 10 bags left at Stouffville location as of 9pm. $3 per bag.

They also have the regular briquettes for $3 a bag and there were tons left.

I almost never use briquettes., but when I do I never end up liking it. I swear the additives in the manufacturing of briquettes makes them give off smoke that burns my eyes. I find lump burns and lot cleaner. My thought is, if it looks, feels, and smells cleaner...then it must be cleaner. Also, I find lump burns hotter which I favor when I'm grilling 9/10 times.

The numbers were not dropping throughout the day in real-time. Kitchener was at 69 in the morning and after we purchased. It changed once to 43 and is still sitting at that number. In fact all the stores around us are sitting at the same inventory levels.

Asking employee where to find the item is one thing. Getting into involved conversations with managers is another.

No point wasting anymore time on this bs.

Thanks OP! The deal was great and I am plan on firing up the smoker a few times.

These were not on the floor in the Hamilton Centennial location.

I asked an associate who looked up the item and confirmed 104 bags in stock.

They looked in the back and loaded 10 bags in my cart for me, great customer service!

Geez man I'm sorry I talked to someone for help at a store. Not sure what you imagined that “involved“ conversation to be but not everyone is a Chad/Karen.

I apologize man and promise never to talk to customer service for help again.

Great buy and +1 to the op.
