No offence but why you put this in hot deal forum when you think it is a warm deal..

$0.0083 valuation of an Aeroplan mile is ice cold. This discount just takes a horrendous deal and makes it a bad deal.

Aeroplan in general is crap. I have points there that are not worth using for airplane tickets, so grabbing $300 in Best Buy gift cards for 6000 miles less, makes it a deal for me. I am sorry if this is a cold deal for you.

At the end of they day this forum exist for people to share deals (ice cold, warm or hot doesn't matter to me). How many deals have you posted?

Don't mind the pointless critics. Most people here are too narrow minded. When they see a deal that doesn't fit their specific needs they think the rest of the world will think the same.

Depends on what you're using it for. Aeroplan points are best for flying. Say you've spent $15,000 on a credit card with 1.5% CB, that's $225. Now with Aeroplan 15,000 points (At 1 point per dollar, but you often get more like 1.5 per dollar on gas and grocery.) thats 15,000 points. 15k points is enough for a short-haul round trip flight. If I flew to say Georgia this September from Toronto for 15k points (I just randomly went and checked) that's a $316 value, a 40% premium above the $225 I would have gotten with a 1.5% cash back credit card.

Each time I tried to book a trip with Aeroplan it never worked out for me. Besides that I always have to pay extra in taxes and fees. Perhaps I am doing something wrong.

Yeah, that's one annoying thing is it doesn't cover the taxes or fees. the roundtrip flight I just mentioned was $500 something dollars, aeroplan would cover the fare part ($316), taxes were almost $200. Its also a fixed-mileage trip. If you fly from the U.S the deals are better as its less taxes you have to pay. Fixed-mileage flights and business class flights are best value, some flights are bad value. Aeroplan isn't straight forward unfortunately

I agree. It's really for people use Aeroplan a lot. I have 35000 points sitting there and I thought I was able to visit Phoenix but it turns out it's a long haul flight so I can't as it's not enough points. Ultimately I'm going to end up buying gift cards, just deciding which ones to get.
People are also just being ******* because lots of people post deals that are warm ish.

Garbage deal. Almost any redemption towards travel is far far better.

Is there still a way to sell Aeroplan miles? I don't fly enough and just been saving them.

Not sure where you live, but YYZ-PHX round trip is 25,000 miles.

On topic, redeeming aeroplan miles for less than 1 cent per mile is a very bad deal - it's definitely not "warm".
