[rfdlink=55]Dell[/rfdlink] has a cheaper 23" LCD, the S2309 that's 1920x1080 for $309.99 as well.

The pixel width is nearly double the pixel height?

EDIT: Okay, no, the math works out. That's 16:9.

I know Derek surely likes this deal and I'm on board too. More pixels!!!

Nice that it includes a webcam as well... wish it were height-adjustable though. I find many of the non-adjustable ones are much lower than I would like... and propping them up with books just doesn't look nice!

Um the price should've been a dead giveaway.

What I don't get is.. Why didn't they just make it 1920x1080 instead of this weird resolution? Now it has to employ scalers and what not for 1080p material instead of being able to display it native.

oddball resolution. but it does sound like correct aspect ratio

More resolution is always a good thing. You can always scale the fonts larger.

I imagine that if you were playing back 1920x1080 material, you would just select "do not stretch", and it would be more like a 22" screen.
A US nickel is worth more than 5 cents.

i can confirm that the 1000:1 dynamic contrast ratio is a typo. it is in fact 80,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio - and Dell is the first to market with such a high contrast ratio! :cheesygri
