[warm]Nikon (High end) Cameras and Lenses on sale

Deal Link:
Please be gentle to this warm deal ;p. Some high end Nikon Cameras and Lenses are on sale at all places -Amazon, Bestbuy, London Drugs and Kerrisdale camera etc.

I had been thinking of buying a "Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm F2.8E FL ED VR" lately and it's now on sale for $2650 ($250 off). Not as low as the previous sale ($2600) but hey, if you need one for the spring/summer, it's not a bad deal.

I traded in my old Sigma and bought the Nikon 70-200mm 2.8E FL. Very happy with it.

I have attached the Nikon Lens page from Kerrsidale Nikon sale link, as well as some web page pictures. I think it's happening at most retailers'

These just get more and more expensive. I got the 70-200 2.8 for $2300 VR2 a year or so before the 3 came out, and that wasn't that great a price at the time. I wanted the 105 Micro but it was $700 at the time, so I decided to wait for a better sale. It's $830 this time around and I'm still waiting :(.

Yes, thank you! I know it's not a "buy 12 even if you don't need it" kind of deal, but I have an RFD alert for anything "Nikon" so this is great! Camera people know... ;)

Good lenses literally do not depreciate or at least depreciate very little.

I got the 70-200 VRII the year it came out for $2100 and that was regular price. I still have it, probably should sell it as I haven't touched in probably 4 or 5 years (I bought it to shoot sporting events which I haven't done in forever and it's way too big to lug around anywhere else).

Yeah, maybe not as crazy as MacBooks :p. This lens was almost too expensive for me. Having looked at the price trend over the years, my justification was: at least I can sell it in the future, just like I'm renting a brand new one ...

Agreed. It seems totally reasonable to buy a new lens at its launching (if you need it features), because the price very likely won't go down within a good amount of time.

Remember for Nikon at least, these are subject to MAP so all retailers will advertise the same price. I have had success emailing my local shops for an enhanced deal.
