Washing Machine prices (Trump Tariffs)

I am interested in getting a washing machine in my rental. My landlord will install one but she jacked up the cost to rent it by an additional $25/month.

She said it has something to do tariffs. Is this accurate?

only ones made in the usa would have tariffs, which do exist (still i think).
ones made in mexico or other countries should be ok, but you could check local prices at stores.
really though, landlord is just making excuse to raise rent, but it's fair if you're the one asking for laundry. Is it worth $25/month to you? try negotiating to $10-15.
If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

I thought the Federal Gov't got rid of the tariffs?

Maybe. I'm sure google could answer that question. Doesn't really matter though for your landlord.
