A few years back I bought a Seiko "Kinetic" watch which was supposed to power itself, every time you move your wrist the gears would spin around charging up the battery. The sales lady said it would never need a new battery. Well a few years later the watch dies, now it is a different story, it doesn't need a new battery but it needs a new "power cell", same thing as a battery, different name. $100.00 later the watch is fixed but dies again a year later and I haven't bothered to fix it again. So for anyone wanting to buy one of these watches, it is a scam, stay away.

Now my question is about the Luminox watch, I found this one online,
http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/stores ... 4_********
ordered from the U.S. it will be $387.50 U.S. delivered including shipping taxes and duties, is there any Canadian source that will sell it online for less, I couldn't find it by searching Google.
You can do way better on Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=amb_link_56 ... 1000145891

Have a look through..it looks like that model can be had from $190-260 or so. Shipping should be $30 max, you may or may not get dinged for tax from customs. If it's USPS delivery (my Seiko was) you might not get charged anything extra.

Seriously..I'll order from Amazon again in a heartbeat. Prices were good and there's no chance of the shady E-bay dealer.

Thanks for the tip. However when I went to checkout from the Amazon.com site I got a warning message stating that they could not ship this item to Canada. I might get someone in the U.S. to order it for me if I can't find a good price in Canada.

Each Amazon sellers have their own shipping terms. Sometimes, for the same item you will have 5 or more different sellers and some of the do ship to Canada. If you have someone in the US, you can get free shipping (from some Amazon sellers), but you will have to wait until you can go to the US and pick it up or have your US contact ship it to you as a gift :cheesygri .

I'm planning on going to Buffalo to shop, and just wondering if watches in the states are a lot cheaper than in Canada? If so which store? And what about comparing to fargotime? I don't know what kind of brands I want yet, but probably an automatic watch for about $400-$500.
And I'm not considering buying it online because I want to try them on to see how they look on my skinny wrist.

Thanks.

Nothing fancy like the Omega above, just picked up a Seiko Automatic, purely out of the blue, due to its looks when I looked at this afternoon at the dealer.
