hey! quick question. we had a flooding and hail in our city. my bike sensors seems to have been damaged (goes in limp mode and throws a Christmas tree style of CELs). is this something insurance would cover? car got hailed on too but thats another issue.

I think thats referred to as “act of god”. So you gotta see if your policy specifically covers that.

General Canadian article on the matter.

It's probably still drying out. Give it a couple days in the sun. It should help to take off any panels that are easy and to blow dry it with a leaf blower.
If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

I think this the first time someone on here. Submitted an insurance claim (they were entitled to submit apparently) without seeming to be TERRIFIED it will cost them 10 times as much in increased premiums than it would cost to fix it themselves. Go OP go!!!! That is way it should be you pay for insurance and USE it instead of paying out of pocket and enriching the shareholders....

Psst, it's a secret, RFD members are scared to death to even call the insurance claim office, just in case insurance has caller id display and 10 years from now they increase their rates.

Theres only a few RFD automotive rules go follow.

1. you must fix your own car

2. No 7 seater or 3 row SUV’s allowed. Only Minivans despite the last person to drive a minivan in RFD was a Toyota Previa back in 1997.

3. Any deviation from this will result in a classic “rfd automotive downvote party”.

Just look @ all the pages of rfd automotive. More threads have a downvote party than upvotes.

Because the people with right minds never posts good things that happens or what they do. We only hear about the crazies and their blog/thread.

Me and my neighbor talked about this. We will be getting shafted with insurance premium increase anyways (my dad had no hail claim and his premium still went up) so might as well get it fixed properly if we can.

Hi, just an update, and possible advice. My dealership for repairs came back in at a damage estimate of 5800. this is to replace ALL of the wiring harness, sensors, do a engine flush, replace spark plugs and brake fluid flushes. My insurance actually ok'd the repairs, i told them to hold off on the repairs as my concern is that now this will be a flood damage bike and i am not sure what kind of warranty i will get on the repairs. can i push the adjuster to write off the bike instead? bike is probably worth around 7-8k. the other issue is that due to bike being older model (2008 canam spyder GS) there is a chance that parts unavailability will delay the repairs uptil december, and if they give me a limited warranty i would hardly have time to get it fixed if i run out of warranty by next summer (if something comes up).

FYI, as per dealership, they are telling me that due to flood damage there is a chance that more repairs works maybe needed after they replace the wiring harness and ECM. this is not part of the quote yet as they dont know the extent of damage. They have also said that CANAM provides 1 year of LIMITED warranty. meaning if something goes wrong within 1 year, they will check and it may or may not be covered under repairs. W T F.

Also parts availability is currently sitting in october, and based on my last experience with back order, means atleast 2-3 months of pushback.
