Water spilled in furnace air vent, what to do?

Was bathing my son and he decided to throw water out. Hard to say how much got in the vent, but Id estimate around a cup or a bit more.

I took the cover out and tried wiping some water with a towel. Currently heating the house to hopefully evaporate the water. Is this the right thing to do?

Dont worry, it will dry in no time

Bright side of RFD: Often find good deal
Dark side of RFD: Tons of stuff that I don't need but still got them because of RFD

Nothing. Water evaporates, especially when warm air is blowing over it.

If you're really concerned, crank up the heat.

I would aim a fan down the vent instead. More stronger (at the vent) than the furnace fan and you're not moving air around the house unnecessarily.
