Waterworld TV Show in the Works With Dan Trachtenberg Attached to Direct

More than 25 years after Waterworld hit theaters, producer John Davis is ready to return to the open seas, as he's developing a Waterworld streaming series that has Dan Trachtenberg attached to direct. "We're going to do the streaming version of that movie, the continuation of that movie," said Davis.

kewl, I didn't mind the original Waterworld movie - just thinking that all the state-of-the-art CG killed the movie budget!!

Shooting the entire movie on the open water and building the sets ballooned the budget

Kevin Costner is a stud. I love that he’s low key too. Dude lives on a ranch in middle of Montana Or Wyoming or something and is just humble af. Kevin Schroeder? Silver spoon kid also does the same our in California. Really sets them apart from the pack IMO.

As far as water world it was like mad max on the oceans. I wonder if Mel Gibson ever gave Kevin a hard time about copying his motif; in jest of course.
