Steaming hot! Mr.Steam MX6EC1 Steam Unit $4499 (Reg $6399+)

Deal Link:
Price:
$4499
Retailer:
Wayfair
I have been watching this for a few weeks and it dropped over the last month from $6499 which was lower than the installer was quoting, to $6199, to now $4499. For comparison, in the US at most sites this is around $4130 USD.

This is a highly specific deal for those in the market for a large sized steam generator (steam shower or more likely steam room in this case). Please note most people looking for a regular sized steam shower or room will not likely need this much power, use the calculator provided by Mr. Steam to get the appropriate size.

Hmm, many things on RFD I can come up with some potential use for, but I'm having a really hard time imagining what I'd do with a 1,275-square-foot steam room.

30 kW steam generator? That belongs on a ship, or a locomotive :) but upvoted regardless.

Not that any of us were gonna buy this anyways, but here's 20kW ones on sale as well:

If I downvote, chances are it's less about the deal, and more about OP's inability to take criticism and constantly favoring their deal due to their ego.

If you are using the wrong material (ie. stone in my case) the Mr. Steam site essentially triples the size you need over acrylic/fiberglass/ composite, or doubles it over ceramic/glass/porcelain as it requires more steam to warm then fill the room. An 8x8x8 room with stone requires the 30kw, ceramic same size 20kw, acrylic same size 10kw. That's where I believe this size is used most, rather than in a 1230sq ft steam room.

Not sure if they make one this big, but I’d check out Disegno steam. Made (or sourced) locally. I dislike the keypad because it is overly complicated, but the steam itself is great.

I’ve had mine for a year with no issues. Was much less expensive. Shop around to see who has it. Try penmar plumbing.

Edit: I did a ton of research. Prices in the states (on the phone) are excellent, but any warrantee issue is going to be a real bitch to deal with as you’ll need to uninstall the unit.

To clarify, it's CUBIC feet. Refers to the volume of the steam room.

Still, that would be a very good sized steam room - about 12'x12' with 9' ceilings.
