Highly doubt this. He's said in the past that he doesn't like comic book movies.

But who knows. These "sources" really get these websites a lot of clicks, eh? Funny how they're all really, really out there with their information. Must all be true. ;)

You keep doubting everything but here is the tweet

He was interviewed and confirmed that he is in discussions for Suicide Squad 2. Mel Gibson is an excellent director though I question how much freedom he will have on the project.

Wow, that selection would be soooooooo out of left field. I guess DC/WB is trying anything they can to make their movies better?

Honestly, Suicide Squad was alright and is the least of their concerns.

I stand corrected.

Doesn't change the rest of my point. A broken clock is right twice a day.

And a lot more jokes.

Also needs to be in daylight. Kids don't like dark movies.

They completely missed the mark with the first movie... getting a director who seemingly hates comic book movies will probably stray even further from the original content. I could be wrong, but I don't see this ending well.

Suicide Squad clearly needs more Zack Snyder influence to make it a better movie that critics and fans would actually like. Winking Face

SS was boring imo. The storyline didn't flow very well and was simply too long and drawn out. Could have easily shaved 30+ mins off the film. I didn't find the movie that good, but again that's just my opinion, so if Mel is interested then that is a good thing as the DC super hero franchise can't get any worse, right? :P

I just couldn't stand the character interactions.
Will smith and that slutty chick who played Harly Quinn was just god awful. And everytime I heard them talk to each other it made me puke in mouth, just a little.Crying Face

I can't believe they got the green light to do a sequel.
Must be all the D.C fan boys that paid the studio off to get it approved and Mel Gibson needs some revelence in his life once more.

I respect Mel Gibson for his works in Apocalypto. He really did a great job directing that movie. And there's nothing to say about Braveheart. That was ,,, that was just GREAT. But Suicide Squad was the most disgusting movie of this century. Even the name "Mel Gibson" could not be able to draw the movie lovers to the cinema hall for this stupid "Suicide Squad".

Shh, don't bring reason into this.

Studios only care about metacritic ratings.

I agree with you . But making money is not enough. Mel Gibson has set his standard too high. "Suicide Squad" is garbage.

Deadline reports Jaume Collet-Serra is now the frontrunner to direct this sequel.

from http://uproxx.com/hitfix/suicide-squad- ... -director/

He can make fast-paced movies on a reasonable budget with some WTF storylines, and he’s also worked with Warner on several movies in the past. If you’re not familiar with his name, you’d probably at least recognize his work. He directed the absolutely looney (spoiler) Orphan, four Liam Neeson movies (Unknown, Run All Night, Non-Stop, and next year’s The Commuter), and that movie where Blake Lively fights sharks. He was also previously attached to Warner’s Akira remake starring Garrett Hedlund as Kaneda, which thankfully imploded.
