Seems like a good price for this SSD. Use discount code 93XQA76 to get $20 off so the final price will be $124.99 + tax. Free shipping as well.

update: Amazon has it on sale for $129.99 now.

This matches their Black Friday price. I picked one up then, good deal for a good budget NVMe drive :)

I plan to do some light video editing. And I know the SN750 would benefit the upgrade.

But when used in a 2015 Macbook Air i5.....do you think the bottleneck would be already be on the machine itself and I should just get this SN550? Or would a SN750 still help?

As @JWL indicated, the Dell 5505 doesn't play well with the SN550. The Black SN750 and many other midtier and high-end NVMe 3.0 drives work well though.

Weird but true.

The WD Blue SN550 also has compatibility issues with the Lenovo Flex 5 Ryzen 4500 version. Had to return mine.

Good enough reason to skip it for many builds. I picked one up for $60-ish at 500GB a while back, now I wonder.

It works fine for the previous generation Lenovo Flex 14 - 6ikb in case anyone is wondering.

That's a i5-8250u cpu though so different chipset/class.

BTW, if anyone is obsessing over specs; just get a modern ssd based upon size and convenience /form factor.

Was it ever figured out as to why the incompatibility exists?
Deal with it.

Not to my knowledge.

The 550 doesn't work on multiple 2020 laptops. It's easier to just skip this drive altogether.
