Rebate or refund? If you return the item in re-sellable condition, you can get a refund with any form of payment. I don't think there's a rebate promo right now for Amex on BB. There was late last year.
Sometimes, AMEX give $20 or so statement credit when buy in BB.
Most 8TB are smr. It is better to get anything more than 8TB to shuck.

I get daily warning for the 8TB drive from the NAS about slow I/O.
WD does not make larger than 8TB SMR.

Yeah. I was in the market for a large drive to shuck back in 2019 and watching prices closely. In the end I got the 8TB one from best buy during one of BB's end of the year sales (black friday/cyber monday or something) for around that price. Bought 2019 x6 with 18000 discount, not 1800, it is 18000. Now you need put 2000 more.
