Their portfolios suck for multiple reasons (e.g. investor with 40+ year horizon can't invest in 100% equities - lolwut?!) but hey, it's an easy 20% ROI.
You can withdraw after 180 days according to the fine print at the bottom. This money was going into my TFSA for the long haul anyway, so I don't see this as "locking up" $500 but YMMV.
You can also get up to $10,000 of your investment managed for free for 12 months using one of the countless referral codes available online. You'll have to enter your referral code after you've completed signup and have access to your account, through the Rewards link in the top right corner of the page. The $10,000 of free management for 12 months does stack with the $100 bonus.
If you already have any WS product you are not eligible for this offer, as per the T&Cs. If you have a WS account, but no products, you can try doing what this user did to get the $100 bonus.
