The Weather Network down?

Not sure which section this belongs in, but I'm getting bad gateway on their homepage and the apps on both iOS and Droid no longer show any weather.

Whats going on lol?

From here:
The Weather Network
@weathernetwork

Pelmorex Corp. has confirmed it has been impacted by a cybersecurity incident connected to a third-party software provider. This has affected @weathernetwork and @meteomedia weather data systems only.

@AlertReady capabilities are not impacted and continue to work as intended. Cyber security experts have been engaged and the investigation is ongoing. Canadians can expect some of our services up and running in the next few hours, with full restoration as soon as possible.

Relevant authorities have been notified about the incident. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this incident may have caused.

The entire layout of the website has changed also. If you visit The Weather Network on desktop now, the site looks like a mobile website. Not sure if this was intentional or not. It looks less optimized for desktop.

Dear Flying Spaghetti Monster, they reduce their need to maintain two styles by eliminating the better one.

Yea, the last layout they had before this "security breach" was just fine. Easy to read and navigate for desktop users. All the important relevant information was at the top of the page, when you loaded the city you were searching for. Now it's just a complete nightmare. It's literally forcing you to scroll through all that garbage just to get relevant information. I really hope the site reverts, otherwise time to change websites. Try out The Weather Channel or Environment Canada.

I like how you put "security breach" in quotes, very accurate.
I already gave up on the weathernetwork app and use the Environment Canada one, no bloat.

The website now almost looks fake. Like hackers hijacked it, and overlayed their own malicious code ontop.

I use this as well, but I dislike that they don't let you search weather by postal code for microclimate readings.

Happened since yesterday morning, I think they are upgrading with new website, new look. This morning, new site came but not working, asked me to 'Try again'. I use this every morning became my routine. I don't like new look.

Yea it's still semi-broken. Seems they are trying to polish the site. They changed the perfectly working and informative desktop site, and transformed it into a mobile app. If you disable your ad-blocker and visit the site you get the same spam/ads and layout as you would on their mobile android app. I downloaded TWN on my phone to compare. The ads are getting so intrusive. I can see why so many have stopped using it. Complete garbo full screen ads app, and now they've ruined a perfectly good website.

If I wanted "app" style weather on my PC, I can just launch MSN Weather from the Microsoft Store in W10/11 and use that instead ad free. It's too bad, I liked TWN site.

Exactly!

I like old look, good information. The only I did not like, was too many ads, imagine new one will be full of them. Let see

They don't have any 5 x 2 widgets?

I am confused, can you rephrase the question?

My pixel 7 has a 2x5 widget for the home screen and it takes up the entire screen.

The Environment Canada one only has it as 2x4 so it's off center on the home screen.

Any suggestions for a replacement website for the desktop, i can no longer glance at the Weather Network's website and gather the basics such as current temperature and temperature for the day.

The Toronto star, who uses their graphics for the weather page, has replaced it today with more generic weather from environment Canada “due to a cybersecurity incident at The Weather Network”

It was working for me this morning, partially working. Don’t like useless graphics, remind me of Weather Channel. I like to see whole picture of 7-days on my screen when selected. New layout, speechless...

not sure it's a new layout...no radar, or 14 day forecast is showing. On mobile at least it isn't
