I received a call from them for a vehicle I'm selling. I have it posted for ~$13K and they gave me a dance about comparables, and offered $10,800 to take it off my hands. I told them to beat it.

So did they?
Sound like an option for those that is not willing to sell private and want more from what dealership offered.

LOL, I think he meant that they should "beat it" as in "screw off" or "take a hike" or "go away". Not in "beat the price".

Really?
Posted for 13k and offered 10.8k, I would seriously consider it if the car been sitting there for 2 weeks or more if no solid interest.

Did you ever sell it? If so, for how much?

Maybe they will offer something for my 02 Civic?

Can we contact them instead of paying unfront an autotrader listing fee? :)

Edit:
Just send them a request for appraisal lol Probably going to get a $100 offer.

Edit 2: :)

I sold my car through them. True I could have gotten an extra 1k-1.5k by selling myself but the hassle was not worth it. I tested the market to see what it would bear.

Plus, I was listing through Kijiji and spent so much time sifting through emails asking "is this available" followed by no answer.
I value my time and wasn't about to be taken on a joy ride by a killer window shopper.

You don't have to even clean inside your car. A basic carwash will do. They do all that for you.

No luck for me, they offered me $9500 for my Fusion and then lowered the offer to $6100 with no explanation, unprofessional. Ill try to sell it privately.

Interesting. Thanks OP for the info.
So certified cheque. I heard certified cheque can be fake too. Wondering if they pay cash though.
