Wedding transportation ideas!

I am planning a wedding for next spring and am starting to look into transportation... a limo would be nice as we would be able to move the entire wedding party in one shot....but from what I see there are other options for a similar pricepoint (I am guessing $400-600 anyways)...

Another option is rent say...FOUR navigators?! It would be an entourage..I would love that...I am hoping it could be around $100/ea/day but I am not 100% sure on that.

The last option would be bride and groom get a Porsche and the wedding party and fend for themselves!

Any other suggestions on what you have done or seen done?!

Our wedding was outside at a winery (Southbrook Farms). The reason we did that was because we left in a helicopter. :D Boy, were the guests surprised!

We did 4 Expeditions (2 black, 2 white) for 7 days and a Red Ford Mustang for us (for 3 days). We rented it from the YYZ Avis....total was around $2500 if I recall correctly. It was nice to have the Expeditions (my side had 2, hubby's side had 2) as we had a lot of out of towners and they kept them for a few days after the wedding as well to go sight seeing.

Do the good ol Chinese tradition...MULTIPLE HUMMERS or hummer limos...

You won't get more than one vehicle for $100 a piece from a rental company as they charge by the day vs. The hour.

I was seriously considering renting a Porsche for our wedding a few years ago, and my wife raised a good point. It would hardly get driven. To and from the ceremony, and that's about it (assuming you will be drinking at your reception).

I decided that it's not the best time to rent one, as I'd want to spend the day driving it. We ended up just taking our own cars, and it worked fine.

Just make sure you work out the logistics - there are only certain places the heli can land to pick you up. The tour of Toronto by heli was fantastic - even got to "buzz" the Tower.

On the bus idea, the last couple of weddings I went to used different size limo buses. They are pretty impressive inside (leather couches, stand-up bar, chandelier, mirrored ceiling, crystal glasses, etc..)

I laughed at it at first but then I realized it can hold the entire wedding party, both sets of parents, the out of towners staying with the parents and if you are doing the post wedding, pre-dinner photo shoot, everyone gets there on time and they have a place to sit and relax while the shots are being taken. They get to have a more intimate party within the larger party which they will definitely remember.

The most important part: everyone can drink safely without having to drive and YOU don't need to worry about the people closest to you.
