Discount on 'base' fare.

A $550 to Europe composes of ~$50 base fare, ~$300 ATC, and ~$200 taxes. A bare $10 discount is not a discount. I experienced it before.
Ouch, not much of a discount there. Flights wouldn't be so bad if we didn't have to pay all those extra charges, taxes and fees.

Anyone know if there is a way to use the westjet coupon code while booking with expedia (have some expedia credits that will expire soon, would be great to use with the coupon)

Nope, these codes only work with booking directly with the airline

Booked YCD to LGW for $501 4 weeks ago. Watched same ticket price rise to $671 today. I know tickets fluctuate, but seems to invalidate any kind of coupons they offer.

Anyone know if WJ offers a partial refund when fares decrease shortly after purchase? Thanks!
Pretty sure they discontinued their low fare guarantee.

But flights are so cheap with those charges. You think the base fare actually can cover costs ? Lol

Wait until you want to use the WestJet Dollars (WJD) for the ticket. It only applies to the base fare, not ATC or taxes. I was naive enough to accumulate $500+ WJD over the years and only be able to use it $30-$55 each return ticket every now and then. Sigh. We never win the big guys.

Apologies to OP for hijacking the thread. Back to the deal.
