Don't mean to crap thread but has WJ improved on their transatlantic flights yet? I am a huge WJ fan, love their domestic flights but tried their flights to London UK in 2016 and it was terrible. Tons of delays and it's not an isolated issue, happens a lot seemingly.

june 2017 took the Calgary-LDN flight and it was less than ideal. Cramped plane, delays departing, delays to get off the plane, etc.

got it on a deal though so i cant' complain TOO much to be honest.

WoW airlines has a few sub $500 fare to CDG. I mean if you're going to fly an airline that doesn't offer anything. Might as well go with an actual LCC.

Wow website shows they charge $55 for a carry-on and $81 for a checked luggage. So for a roundtrip flight you're looking at an extra $272. Baggage fees would be $504 if you pay at the gate.

I paid 850 to fly on LH during summer to BCN and Rome open jaw

Why would anyone want to torture themselves on a WestJet 737 across the Atlantic with stopover in Halifax to save a hundred bucks or so is crazy
if it's not rhetorical.. some people don't fly with all adults or with just 2 people. With 5 in our family, any saving count 5X as much (ie. 200 cheaper is $1,000 total) and my kids are not so huge they feel cramped on a long flight

I was thinking about booking with primera as they've been showing lower prices for a while, but the airline is considered a discount airline and has low or no ratings to be found. For the same price Westjet would be a no-brainer.

Yeah i'd like to say my time is worth $100/hour but realistically in true RFD'er fashion I would rather do multiple stops and save $400. Now if it was a 5:30am flight that would be another thing...

Air Transat direct from Toronto to CDG is $700 for summer, widebody and bags. WS with stopover in Halifax, add in a bag and it's same price as Transat but with stopover in Halifax and in a 737

For someone who lives on the East Coast- $463 all in, overnight flight, 737MAX and free bags with my WJ Mastercard makes this a no-brainer.
Booked 4 tickets and can't wait!

You're right...ws is $780 plus fees in July/August with stopover in yhz vs $1080 on AC or AF etc

So just under $200 difference for direct flight on a widebody

I paid $625 and Air Transat is showing $1056. That's $431 or 69% more. I do see that prices have now risen to $743 on my route so seats must be going fast!

Do you have to pay extra for advanced seat selection?

I would hate to be stuck in a middle seat across the Atlantic.

i understand the complains about a stop in halifax ... but what's wrong with the new 737-800 max? although it is not wide body as air transat a330, just the 737 bigger size overhead bin is huge stress relief when you get on the plane with carry on...

Booked Winnipeg to Paris for $480 in June, that's an unheard of price for Europe in the Summer and I've probably gone over 20 times. Don't really mind the connection in Halifax.

I should get the free checked bag by being silver, and I can use up my WestJet seat selection and lounge vouchers that expire in June anyway.
