[WestJet] WestJet YYZ-LAX direct round trip Jan 13-26, 2021 - $308

WestJet just lowered their flight deal to LA for this time frame.

I originally booked during March for $415. Since the COVID-19 rules allow you to change or cancel your flight one time. I just cancelled and rebooked it for the same date.

If you book before July 31st you are allowed to change or cancel one time and receive a flight voucher valid for 2 years.

I doubt it will drop any further than this.

I'm not sure you are going to have many takers for a road trip with a stranger in the middle of a pandemic.

It's your lucky day then because the deal is for Jan 2021.

$308 is only slightly cheaper than normal for this route. I paid $348 all in with Air Canada back in 2018 around mid-June.

Even taking your price of $415 dropping to $308, saving that ~$100 does not outweigh the uncertainty of where the US is going with COVID.

And when Westjet cancels the flight, they'll keep your money and force you to book another flight in the future, when they'll be more expensive.

Ac is matching West Jet's fare on this route it seems. Also at 308.

And no travel insurance available as well, so if you get sick with anything and need a hospital visit, you have a new mortgage to pay off!!!

Avoid all non-essential travel out of Canada!

When I fly to Europe next year, or whenever it's safe again, I'm avoiding AC and WJ the best I can. Reversing course on refunds is douchebag territory.

Nope...BA is way worst, KLM has terrible hard product that's terribly outdatedb and Lufthansa is pretty bad hard product as well

Avoid all European carriers if you can. Lots of strikes, even more nickle and diming and are basically like rouge or worse for hard product

Eg BAs J class charges for seat selection and most of their planes don't even have direct aisle access

Add in having to clear immigration/security in places like LHR or FRA and it's totally not worth it
