At what age can a kid go to Wonderland alone?

Can't find this age requirement in their website...

I don't know the rules but I think morally 12 would be the perfect age for a kid to go to Wonderland or similar places alone. I could be wrong :D :D :D

12 seems too young. They're not a babysitting service. I'd say 14+, depending on the child's maturity level. I wouldn't have left my 12 year olds home alone for 8 hours, much less in an amusement park with thousands of other people.

They probably don't want to put an age requirement on their website because then they'd be "responsible" for children of that age or older. And so much is dependent on the child.

FWIW, WestJet requires "unaccompanied minor" status for children under 12, and this only is allowed on direct flights or flights where plane changes don't occur. A lot more can go wrong in an amusement park than on a direct flight, IMHO.

How alone do you mean? Since our kids have to get there, they do need someone to drive them there.

That being said, I think my oldest was 11 (his 11th birthday was the first time) when we would let him and friends run around the park without our supervision. They just had to meet up with us for lunch and a check in at 4 or so.

There is no reason why they would need any more supervision at that age. Kids 12 (and younger) are comfortably taking the TTC by themselves throughout Toronto. It isn't an issue.

12 is probably good. I remember going around 12-13 or so with my friend and his cousin who was like 11 from Yorkdale taking the GO bus. Much different time even in the 90s.

To each their own, I guess... My kids grew up in a small town, so at 12 years old, their street smarts probably wasn't as established as more urban kids. Maybe that's where my bias comes in...

I went to wonderland with my friends taking GO bus there in gr. 9 so that's around age 14.

I'm going with 13. That's the age that some kid will be going into high school.

However, depends on maturity also.

What is your plan?
Why can't we all just get along?

If I were a parent, I wouldn't let my kid go there alone until at least 17. If in company with friends then 15.

My little sister just turned 13 and for the last year seems reasonable for her to go so I agree with 12. Not sure she would make it past the front section even in a whole day though with all the mandatory snapchatting, grrr

This... depends on how alone. I have had my oldest at 10 go through an amusement park with a friend and meet me at some times. She had a phone I could get ahold of her, she knew the park well, and is very responsible, plus I was at the park too.

For a full drop and go, I I would more comfortable with 13 or 14 depending on the child.
On a 'smart' device that isn't always so smart. So please forgive the autocorrects and typos. If it bothers you, then don't read my posts, but don't waste my time correcting me. If you can get past the typos, then my posts generally have some value.

13 is when High school starts and should be fine by then. I've seen much younger groups running around CW though, so it's up to you.

YMMV, of course. Both of my kids (12 and 14) take public transit to downtown Vancouver with their friends and wander all over the city. If they can do that then they can surely handle an amusement park.
