What is the best but less expensive internet provider in Markham area?

Helping mom to get an internet provider in Markham area. I am located in Calgary and not that familiar what the current best deal available in that area. Speed will be best around 75Mbps if possible since it will be used to do some light drama/movie streaming. Thanks in advance.

does your mom currently have internet provider now? like Rogers or Bell?
you could call them and see what deal they can give her. Usually they give a 1 year deal

Have carrytel in mississauga DSL. Exact same service as CIK if not faster, better and significantly better support.

They have a good deal in the past but not anymore, only one-month special. Are you sure they will?

No, she has no internet at all Crying Face

CannetTel sounds ok for avg of $32.50/m for 2 years. 2nd choice might be CarryTel.

I'm trying to sign up with CanNet (Cable 75). Their monthly fee after discount is $29.98 (for 1st year). However, they're charging a $39.90 "processing fee" (first time charge). Anyone knows how to waive this?

Thanks!

I have been extremely happy with start.ca so far.

100% reliability, for a fair price that doesn't change.

Did you want best, or cheapest?

Your title is "best but less expensive"

Start is the best, less expensive 3rd party provider IMO.

+1

I've been with Start since 2013, grandfathered on a $30/month plan.
Great reliable service and support which is rarely needed.

I've referred many friends and family to Start too. Last thing you want is to recommend something that causes them grief, especially if they are non-technical.

You are not bound by a contract, so after 1 year I would find any other cable internet promotion and hop on that. That's how I keep my internet bill as low as possible.

i'd plan to amortize that $40 'hook-up' fee in the first year .. that' make it effectively $33.33 per month in year 1 and $35 in year 2. still good compared to the $60+tax i'm paying with Fido Home Internet...
anyone have experience with the speed with CanNet .. is their advertised 'up to 75Mbps download' really only 10 or 15 Mbps download with the excuse "Well, we didn't advertise a minimum speed .. just a maximum speed" which is ridiculous.
Anyone?
