Buggy166 wrote: I found most "deals" to be regular sales they have during the year at any random time, so i didnt really get anything besides this:

SanDisk Ultra 200GB microSDXC UHS-I - $65+ tax (regular price $100+tax)

Even that i got, because i bought the Mario Oddessey Switch and needed a memory card regardless.

I'm pondering getting Wolfensetin 2 on PS4 since its $40 right now and feel that its actually worth that price....and yet...i have 14 games still shrink wrapped i havent installed yet. lol
You might be right, but many people like myself that don't check RFD or internet shop every day will miss most of these short sales, whereas on Black Friday and Boxing Day you pretty much know what you need will be on sale somewhere for a good price, so it's actually a great day.

Anyways, I got a Perry Ellis shirt for $25 and some other random clothes from The Bay.

Quarantine Bubble
It's just my imagination or are these sales happening too often and too close together to have any sense of occasion anymore. Growing up, there was just Boxing Day but now they have these sales like once a month. Look how after Cyber Monday, they have 'extended' sales, etc.

Only bought a few games on sale for my nephew and got myself a DJI Osmo Mobile and that cooking pot from Amazon. Was going to get a new video card but then the reality of paying $1000 for a very insignificant upgrade just didn't make sense.

Including the new Mi A1 I bought a few weeks ago, I guess the damage for me this year's holiday shopping season is $500-600. I can forego Xmas shopping.

What did anyone get and more importantly, were they just indulgence or did you really need 'an upgrade' ? On Friday I totally forgot about BF and went to WalMart to buy some grocery and I see this guy hauling out 2 big screen TVs in his cart and another guy behind him had another TV. Do people really need a tv in every room of their house? SMH.

Google Home, Christmas tree/deco and clothing. About $500, more than expected, hopefully boxing day won't cause too much damage :D
Only real need was the Christmas tree, because we had a natural one last year but did not like the experience. YOLO

I see BF as a chance to pick up some things cheaper than any other time in the year. Sometimes there are multiple discounts that can be stacked. I got things about 10-20% cheaper than any other time of year or sale.

I have a wishlist of things I wanted to buy all year and on BF some of those things reached a yearly low and so I pulled the trigger. I don't bother with Boxing Day anymore.

I'm glad that BF is a thing now, because before, you would wait right until Dec 26 sometimes to find out that there is no deal at all. It's all about historical low and we're seeing much more of that before xmas.

Secondly BF is good for picking up gifts. With BD, sometimes the item goes on sale AFTER you already gifted it.

I bought an iPad, some Herschel stuff, a Unicomp Keyboard (shipping discount), Datavac. Nothing special, just stuff I wanted for a while and was holding off.
RFD is not just about saving money, it's about the thrill of the hunt and getting the stuff I want without paying full price like Joe Shmoe did.
This applies to everyday items as well as high end items that I don't really need.
