If you can't take the heat stay out of the kitchen. I have been staunchly against doing the 1% TQQQ thing. The strategy is not a game changer in terms of making money. Regardless of the rate of ascension, there is no emotion but the littlest magnified pullback brings out the angst. What is the point of creating these situations. We all know the market can go in either direction on any given day with total unpredictability. Anyway, I was a cool as a cucumber today. When the dust settled, I actually eked out a tiny gain.

I am happy with the base hits and the occasional extra bases. Strikeouts are not in the cards. The most important thing to me is being able to stay the course and time. I think you want the money more than you need the money. The Psychology of Money would be a great read for you.

I have a M postal code, so I know what it is like. I have more than enough of what I need, but not even close to what I want. It is easy to want more but can be very hard to get it. Needs are satisfied, I am good. Mr. Jones is in the lead but I am not racing with him.

You're right of course. I need to stop browsing r/canadahousing. Messes with my head with all the "The Big Short" is coming posts. I can't watch anything with Steve Carell in it anymore. That's why I come to RFD for a bit of calm and reason.

Those are fine because I'm not envious and resentful of those with more money than me. A bit of motivation is good because I don't think it's ok to be like the Canucks, perpetual losers and proud of it. Need to strike a delicate balance. Anyways going off topic.

Behavioral finance is very individual, but I have my balance set at a very different non competitive point. You could consider moving to the 6ix and cheer for the leafs, pick your poison. I know off topic.

Like I've mentioned before, I used to own shares in Maple Leaf Gardens, before it went private. Then the multi-millionaires and billionaires got involved and I had to sell out. Sort of like Tim Horton's and Shoppers Drug Mart more recently where I had to do much the same. I guess they knew a good thing or two.
