What did you pay for your F150 Lariat?

Hey,

Sorry for the multiple threads guys. Just trying to get an idea of what the best price I can get on an F150 Lariat in comparison to what I can get an almost equally equipped Ram for. I know that the price can vary greatly due to options but I'm just trying to get a general idea of how much off of MSRP can I expect to get.

If you bought a '17 or '18 lariat and wouldn't mind sharing what your otr price is and what general options you had, I'd appreciate it.

I'm currently looking at a 2.7l, 4x4, short box, 501a, sport package, twin Moonroof, power running boards, nav, tailgate step truck.

I also don't mind driving far for the right deal so if anyone had any recommendations for what dealerships in Ontario are high volume and are willing to deal with A Plans or Employee pricing not in season etc. then please send me a PM. Thanks!

I still don't understand why people buy shortboxes.
How come shortbox and not regular box? Out of curiosity?

When it comes to trucks I only buy longboxes. But my truck is also used as a truck. Parking in busy places wouldn't be optimal.

Make sure to stack discounts, not sure if the costco 1000$ off is going on right now, but useful if you have a membership.

I've heard Yonge/Steeles Ford is a high volume dealer. Not sure how they are on pricing though.

Well. I could probably pull together some weak justification but the reality is I'm looking to buy it because I like it, not because I need a box for anything. I have no real use for a truck.

That's justification enough. Not everyone gets to buy something they like to drive.
Hope you find the deal you're looking for!

Send Rahul Chopra at Younge Steeles an email, his first name at youngesteelesfordlincoln dot com. If there's a 17 on the lot and you are flexible on options and colour he'll give you a good price. It can take a week for him to reply.

I had no real use for a truck either.

But guess what ? When you have a truck eventually the uses will find you. You will be surprised how many situations come up that make use of the truck.

I have a 2015 XLT SuperCrew and paid ~$40K so somewhere north of that for what you're looking at.
Up votes, down votes, they're all votes for me! I thank you!

I prefer 6ft or short boxes over fulls and the reason is, unless you have a reg cab, a 8ft box is ridiculous to get around in a extended/crew, especially if you use the vehicle in the city.

Can you stretch to a 502a package? I think the LED lights that come with that package are huge improvement over the halogens for the 501a.

That's good to know. I don't mind spending more money to get what I want. I am just curious about the best deal out there / best time of year to buy. I'm not sure whether employee pricing is the best time or whether you can get employee pricing right now and couple it with 0%

I have followed the F-150 pricing for years. This is what I found. If you are willing to pay cash or get your own loan, July-Sept is the best time to buy during employee pricing. Typically the total incentives on a Lariat 502a would be in the range of 12-14K with basically no negotiations needed at that time.

If you want to lease or finance you can get around 10-12k off the same truck basically any time of year. They cycle through various incentives outside of employee pricing months. The 10-12k is combined with 0% finance or 0.99% lease. During employee pricing these rates go up so while you get more off the truck you pay more in interest. So it all depends on how you want to pay for the truck that will determine when the best time is to get one.

Those 0% financing rates are only available for certain trims not Lariats or Platinums from what I know. I recently received a flyer for the new 2018's and the fine print stated 0% was only available on XLT.

I could see that. I have an extended cab + 8ft box. I haven't had any issues, but mind you I'm out in the prairies now.
I could see driving / parking in a city like Calgary or Toronto being hell.

That's exactly why I love our truck and Journey (basically a lifted minivan in my opinion)
I've started driving our truck more than the car lately (we also got 2-3 ft of snow at the moment, so that's also why.

I only have an extended cab though, and no third door, with a car seat it can be challenging at times.

Being 6ft5 the truck is a lot easier to get in and out of.

Totally agreed. Originally bought the truck to tow a trailer now and then. (Had to do a relocation for work, rather than rent a truck I bought a truck, rented a uhaul trailer as trailer doesn't get dinged mileage.) Sure it cost me more than renting a moving truck, but I saw use for it in the future.
Also ended up working out because with the amount of snow we got, I wouldn't have been able to get around without the 4*4 truck.

The nice part of having a truck is if you need to do something, you don't even have to think about it. Before owning one you don't realize just how handy they can be.

I've been "wanting" to buy a F150 Lariat 502a FX4 since last May (2.3, 3.6, 5.0 ???). Can't justify (yet) the over $50K plus tax
I always check the following dealers:
Meadowvale Ford - Usually have many lariats in stock
Erinwood Ford - Usually have many lariats in stock
Both always show discount pricing broken out:
(Costco (when available), Delivery allowance, dealer discount, purchase assist (cash discount), Promo of the month (Feb was 3 payment on us $1500) etc

I also check
Midland Ford (Bourgeois) - typically not many lariats
Yonge Steeles -
Both just show discounted prices
