What is the difference between Mercedes classes (A, B. C, etc)

Like, I notice Mercedes A & B class start at $35,000. Does that put them slightly above Camry or Civic?

Is an $100,000 S-class basically better than a Nissan GT-R?

Hate to sound clueless, but I really know nothing. Angry Audi F had some insight into this--that some Mercedes cars were shameful for her to own.

You just buy the brand. I'd rather pay half and buy a kia. 90% chances it will be more reliable.

Their reason is, Mercedes or any GERMAN car, is a money pit. So the legend says....

Sorry to the people who don't think I know EVERYTHING about luxury cars. I do not look at BMW, Audi or Mercedes simply because I have heard maintenance was expensive.

That doesn't mean I don't want to know the difference between different series of BMW or Mercedes.

What is the deal with a $35,000 Mercedes, then? And what do you get for $100,000? What are comparable Japanese or Korean vehicles?

I had the same question the other day. Guess what I did, OP? I GOOGLED? Ever heard of that site before? It's awesome!

So that people who couldn't afford the $100,000 Benz can buy the $35,000 one. It's all about making money.

Money isn't the only metric that matters when comparing cars. Well, it's not the only metric that matters when you compare pretty much anything.

I'm not trying to sound flippant, but if you want to ask such an open ended question, you could do some cursory investigation yourself beforehand.

https://www.google.com/search?sxsrf=ACY ... dsQ4dUDCAg

First link:
A and B are small cars with fwd, the B is slightly larger than the A. Comparable to the 1 and 2-series from BMW.

C is the smallest rwd car. Longer than the A and B, more comfortable ride, but not much more room. Markedly more expensive than the A and B. Comparable to the 3-series from BMW.

E is larger than the C and even more comfortable, with equipment and handling clearly superior to the A and B, but the price is also a lot higher. Comparable to the 5-series from BMW.

S is as good as it gets. Very large, extremely comfortable, and with equipment that very few competing brands can match. Comparable to the 7-series from BMW.

40 years later, it still costs more to fix a Germany car vs Japanese car. Times changed, and the money pit is deeper.

It's best to visit your local MB dealers and test drive those classes.

Obviously I Googled this stuff. That's how I got the PRICES of the respective classes. But not info COMPARING Mercedes to Japanese brands.

Saying "Mercedes X class is like BMW Y class" means nothing to me. You're translating a Spanish word into Portuguese.

those of you saying im a troll need to lay off on the Micky D's and find positive ways to contribute like I do when someone needs info on a beige corolla.

A and B are the bottom of the barrel for those that can't afford C or higher class. S is baller class.
