what do you seal the gap between the door frame and the laminate floor with?

There was some caulk-looking white stuff that used to cover the gap between the door frame and the laminate floor before,

but it was done really messily.

So I got rid of it. But the handyman that came to my suite told me that I shouldn't use caulk to cover the gap, since laminate floors tend to shrink?

Anyway if there's some product to cover the gap between the wooden frame and the floor, please let me know.

Can put some moulding floating slightly above laminate but hard to do for non straight areas.

Do not put something that adheres both to laminate and frame as need small gap for laminate movement during temp changes.

That gap is not supposed to be "sealed" unless it's cut wrong & gap is very big, then you fill it. But based on the pic I would leave as is.
