What is a good product to remove 3M tape adhesive residue off

I am looking for a good adhesive remover that will not damage car paint.

I have had good luck with goo gone. I just wax the area right after ( well, not real wax, but spray "Fukken wax" ), and never experienced any paint issues.

3M adhesive remover. All sticky residue wipes right off.

I used this on the carpet glue residue on my hardwood floors... and it darkened the wood pretty badly. I wouldn't trust it on clearcoat as it ate right through the remaining urethane on the wood. I used it on a small area and didn't use it again. Went back to scraping it off.

I'd do research before I put that stuff on my car's finish.

I'd say regardless of using 3M Adhesive Remover or Goo Gone, it all depends on the condition of your clear coat. Once you're done, definitely need to apply sealant/wax over the area.

Goo Gone is my goto for anything adhesive.

My late uncle pointed me to this wonderful product one year when my cousins and I "decorated" his golf cart for July 4th celebrations...then found that we used super sticky adhesive for the decorations. There was pretty much adhesive all over the body of the golf cart at the end of it. I thought my uncle would get so mad at us...but he was more than happy to put in a product plug for Goo Gone. And he wasn't even the inventor of the product, just a VERY happy end user was is able to spread the gospel. Those were fun times...

Honestly, mayo works well and pretty much everyone has it in their fridge.

Came here to say this.
It is actually very good at removing adhesive residue, perhaps its best property.

That said i do not know if it is safe for automotive paint.
In fact in Rand McNally they wear hats on their feet and hamburgers eat people

I’ve used it before on cars with no issues. It will strip any wax that you may have applied previously but it won’t affect the paint itself.

Peanut butter as well and has better consistence/viscosity than mayo. Don't think goo gone is going to harm paint either though--have used it before as have many other people.

Also many car polishes will work here too.

I've used Goo Gone on my bicycle paint.....a high end bicycle where the frame alone worth $2K, and it didn't damage the clear coat at all. So I wouldn't hesitate to use it on car paint as long as you follow the directions. If you scrub the paint too hard or use something to scrape the paint, you will damage it, even if you just used water.

Thanks for everyone suggestion. I need to redo the spoiler myself, because the previous installed wasn't done properly and the tape won't stick. I end up using my finger to rub majority of the residue off, wipe the area with some spray wax, then use rubbing alcohol after and all the adhesive is gone. I did get a bottle of goo gone for automotive from CT but it doesn't look like I need it.
